I am writing to remind you, dear friends, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning. - 2 John 1:5
I spent the morning in my devotions working with N. T. Wright's commentary Early Christian Letters for Everyone. He talked about how John is praising this church for their walking in truth, but emphasizes that they must take it a step further and also walk in love. He reminds them that this isn't something that's new, but what Christ called everyone to do.
I decided this was the theme I was going to pull out because truth and love as two things that should never be separated. When we love as God loves and see people with God's truth living inside of us, then we can live life the way God intends us to.
I used started with gesso for page prep, just to be safe because I knew I wanted to use pens for accent later. Then I used distressed ink and stencils to create the hearts. Once I had those down, I added the black swirls which are sticks I found at Hobby Lobby and the black letters which are also stickers I found at the same time.
