This morning, we had the pleasure of hearing testimony from Dallas Grey. Dallas shared that he and his wife and made it a life practice of incorporating fasting into their lives. He shared how they would fast for three days together when they as a way of going to God unified seeking his guidance on things.
We live hectic lives. There is abundant amounts information being thrown at us from every direction. Fasting is a way for us to deny ourselves so we can become tuned to the Holy Spirit within and hear God's voice clearly. That's part of the awakening within.
An awakening though isn't just a one-time thing; it's a recurring event that we experience throughout our spiritual lives. We have to be in tune with our feelings because experience God and emotions go hand in hand.
I know, our society tells us feelings are bad. Our emotions though connect us to the root of who we are, what we feel, and what God is doing in us. We need to know what's going on inside of us so we can see how God is working and we can unleash his power in our lives.
We can live a life in a rhythm of connecting with God and seeking him in ways that keep us hungry for him. We can stay on fire for God and now let our lights go out.
Take a moment and listen to Dallas Grey's testimony from this morning.
