Worry is something that we all deal with, some more than others. It seems impossible to escape the worry. Even when we do our best to not let worry control us, it creeps in the we least expect it, taking hold of our minds and emotions. Worry can keep you from sleeping, take hold of your thoughts, and control your every action.
Scripture tells us that instead of worrying, we should spend our energy on prayer. God wants us to bring everything we have on our minds and bring it to him so we can release our minds.
When we worry, we are spending energy on something. We are thinking about the "what ifs" and "worst possibles" and "if only" in our mind. We could spend the same amount of energy and put it to prayer. We can tell God that we have fear about what the future holds with the given situation.
The truth is, we have no control of the future. There are some things that we can control, like our own actions. But in the end, the future is out of our hands. Our result is to turn to God to handle things that the Almighty can handle.
